The 41 List: 41 role models in the Latina/o LGBTQ community
In 1901, 41 men were arrested, beaten and tortured for being gay/bi. Their names were put on a list that condemned them and their families to a life of ridicule and shame.
Today, The 41 List demonstrates how far we have come in 100 years as a Latina/o LGBTQ community and that we can be successful by living our lives “out” and open.
Those featured on The 41 List represent a diversity of professional backgrounds, age groups, genders, geographic regions, and Latino backgrounds that make up our community. They are all role models for our community and for future Latina/o LGBTQ generations.
Through example, these individuals bring honor to their own lives, their families, and our community.
You will soon be able to nominate Latina/o LGBTQ individuals for the 2014 edition of The 41 List.
Come back to this website in the Fall of 2013 for the criteria and to submit your nomination.
